VEU is a Victorian Government program offering discounts on eligible energy-efficient products and upgrades. An accredited provider must be involved, and the product and installation must meet the program requirements.
Will my home qualify for a rebate?
Eligibility depends on your property, existing equipment, chosen replacement and the rules for that upgrade. Request an assessment before purchasing or installing a system. An enquiry is not an eligibility approval.
Are solar batteries included in VEU?
Solar battery incentives follow separate rules. The Australian Government’s Cheaper Home Batteries Program supports eligible battery systems connected to rooftop solar; it is separate from VEU.
Can I upgrade a rental property?
Rental properties can access eligible VEU upgrades. Tenants and property owners should work together, and landlord permission may be needed before installation.
What should I have ready for an assessment?
Your suburb and postcode, the type of upgrade you are interested in, and details of your current system are a helpful start. Photos, model numbers and a recent energy bill may be useful later.
